Shanti Gyan Niketan Senior Secondary Public School

On Aug. 15, 1989 a sapling called Shanti Gyan Niketan was planted by the auspicious hands of Prof. Sh. Moonis Raza, the then Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University. The school was founded by the Founder Chairman Late Sh. Gian Chand Khurana, along with Sh. Raj Kumar Khurana as the Founder Managing Director. The school was a dream plan of Mr. Raj Kumar Khurana, which came into being by the blessings of Shri Gian Chand Khurana and Smt. Shanti Devi. Started with 4 students, a staff of 4 teachers, in just 4 rooms, the school has grown from sapling into a young tree. Both Shri. Gian Chand Khurana had been a constant source of inspiration for Mr. Raj Kumar Khurana in his endeavour to make Shanti Gyan Niketan, a school buzzing with around 3200 students. The school stands tall in these 25 years by catering the best education to children from different areas of Delhi. In this span of 25 years it has extended as Shanti Gyan Vidyapeeth, a sister concern of the school. The school has emerged as a real temple of learning, where every child is inculcated with the spirit of patriotism, moral and religious values along with various activities which portray every student wholesome, dedicated and responsible. 100% academic results have always been an attention for admission seeker at SGN. Yoga and meditation, Horse riding, Swimming, Volleyball, Handball, Basketball, Lawntennis, Snooker / Billiard, NCC, Chess, Table Tennis etc . make every child an all rounder. If today Shanti Gyan Niketan can boast of its predominant position as one of the premier institutions in Delhi , it is because of the management, the teachers and the students and the non-teaching staff that have untiringly worked towards it. Shri Surinder Kumar, the Chairperson of the school has always been the guiding light for the Niketains. Shri Ashwani Kumar, the Secretary of the school has made the colossal school move most systematically and smoothly. Shri Raj Kumar, the Managing Director, is a constant motivation force, who makes all Niketains believe that IMPOSSIBLE is I’M POSSIBLE. Principal, Mrs. Anju Bala and Vice-Principal,Dr. Rakesh Agarwal have contributed their selfless service in making SGN a better institution. Mr. Aakash Khuarana’s untiring zeal to make SGN the best learning place has proved him to be an excellent Administrator. Mrs. Veena Dhawan and Mrs. Anubha Diwedi, the H.M. and Incharge respectively, are continuously making SGN progress in the fields of academic and co-curricular activities.
