Janta Adarsh Andh Vidyalaya

This wonderful charity to humankind started on 25 December 1970 as the Janta Adarsh Andh Vidyalaya, founded by Mr. J. S. Sharma, (who lost his eye sight in his childhood) was keenly aware of the problems the blind had to face. He, alongwith a couple of kind hearted souls decided to establish this organization on barren piece of land (khandar) at Sadiq Nagar, New Delhi with two rooms. As a leader and inspirer he fostered and guided the Vidyalaya till his last upto 30 Jan. 2000. Late Sh. J. S. Sharma The school got its practical shape on 1st June 1971 starting with 2 visually challenged students.Subsequently, a building was constructed through donations. Janta Adarsh Andh Vidyalaya society was framed and registered in June 1975. It follows all the rules, regulations and governmental directions under the registered society act of 1860. List of all certificates and registration The school has been admitting children of all age groups in various classes. It has created facilities for full boarding and lodging, totally free of charge. Parents of visually handicapped children can leave their children for studies and stay. The school facilitates all the children to educate them on State Council of Education Research and Training (Education Deptt. Delhi Govt.) syllabus from I standard to VIII standard. After passing VIII standard, the children have own option to govt. senior secondary school and living in the hostel of Vidyalaya.. Since 1971 many visually challenged students joined and benefited. 2049 children, till March 2015 of various age group have learned and are able to earn their livelihood honorably. This is a continuous process. The school is well known in the vicinity for helping blind and making them independent to make them earn their livelihood along with others in the main stream.
