About B.D. Arya Girls Senior Secondary School
Bhagirathi Devi Arya Girls' Senior Secondary School was founded under the aegis of Bhagirathi Devi Charitable Trust in 1959 with the sole purpose of providing quality education to girls in the walled city area of Bazar Sita Ram where none existed at that period of time. The Trust in 1959, established Bhagirathi Devi Arya Girls Middle School at Gali Arya Samaj, Bazar Sita Ram, Delhi. The school in 1967 due to its consistent good performance and support of eminent and, in 1977, came under the CBSE 10+2 scheme as Senior Secondary School. Today, it is recognized and aided by Directorate of Education, Delhi Administration. Bhagirathi Devi Arya Girls Senior Secondary School has completed 54 years of its founding. Fifty four years of selfless dedication towards imparting education and assistance. This indeed is a milestone achieved, and, which transformed many a child's life into that of prosperity and happiness. We celebrate the golden jubilee of that day 54 years ago when the vision of our elders took shape, a dedicated vision that was laced with passion and devotion, - an admirable sacrifice of their time and money The school with 60 student and 3 teachers in 1959 started in a single storied haveli donated by Late Smt. Bhagirathi Devi. The school has today over 500 girls students and staff strength of over 35. The single storied structure is now a three storied building.
