The South Indian Cultural Association popularly known as SICA was formed in the year 1953 by few persons who came to Indore from South to take up jobs here, particularly in Textile Industry. The purpose was to create a common platform for members to meet each other and celebrate some important culture/religious functions. The dance programmes that used to be conducted were very popular in those days when there was no T. V. Gradually over the period of time, SICA had augmented some funds as to acquire a piece of land in Sanghi Colony. A small hall was constructed there for cultural activities. However, during 1972 and 1973 some members took initiative to broaden the activities by opening a school for providing quality education at a reasonable cost. So, a small school with 75 students and 3 teachers was opened on 1st July 1974, due to the sincere efforts and with the dedication of teachers along with the co-operation of people of Indore, the school grew so much that today the students are studying in SICA institutions situated in 4 locations. Classes Nursery to 12 are managed by a Trust formed in 1984 known as SICA EDUCATIONAL TRUST. The reputation of SICA Schools is very good and is being rated as one of the top schools at most affordable fees under the CBSE syllabus.
