About Army Public School
Initially the primary education of the children of service personnel at Mhow Station was looked after by the Combat Central School, managed by the College of Combat (now Army War College) and nursery education by the Nursery School, run by DSOI, Mhow. On the recommendations of HQ MB Area, Jabalpur, approval for opening Army School at Mhow, was accorded by the COAS in 1983. Subsequently, to facilitate opening of Army School, the existing Combat Central School and the Nursery School were closed and Army School was opened in July 1983, with the existing staff, students and infrastructure of these two schools. A new Managing Committee was composed with Commandant, College of Combat, as the Patron and Deputy Commandant, College of Combat, as the Chairman. Initially a sum of Rs 5,00,000/- (Rupees five lacs only) was received as Corpus on 16 July 1983 to be invested in Long Term Deposit. Presently the school is under the jurisdiction of MCTE with the Commandant, MCTE as the Patron and Commander, Faculty of Communication Engineering as the Chairman of the school.
