At the first stage of learning, it is imperative for the child to understand the spirit of togetherness i.e. community living - of being in the company of other children. The child cannot play with any and every other child but like elders, makes his own group and can feel comfortable and secure only in their midst. Then together they play and learn. The most important years in a child's development are those from one to six. Thus, the exposure to the world in which the child lives, the instruction he receives, and the habits he forms during those years, definitely affect his ability to learn and properly adjust as he progresses through his years of formal education.
