A confluence of rich In Indian culture and technology Sri Vani Education Centre has grown from humble roots that first sprouted in 1966. The brainchild of famous philanthropist the Late R S Hanumantha Rao, the school first opened its doors with just 18 children on its roles. Today, Sri Vani Education Centre operates three campuses and has more than 5500 children studying here. Sri Vani Education Centre has three campuses – Ramavana at Rajajinagar, Shamavana at Basaveshwarnagar and Hanumavana off Magadi Road. While Ramavana and Shamavana offer both ICSE and State Board syllabi, Hanumavana is dedicated completely to the CBSE syllabus. This gives parents a choice of schools and boards when it comes to admission. A feather in the cap of Sri Vani Education Centre is the Science Park. The Sri Vani Science Park is an attempt by the visionary Late Sri R S Hanumantha Rao at making education more meaningful. Set in the Hanumavana campus of the Sri Vani Education Centre School, off Magadi road, the Science Park stands as the only one of its kind. Spread over four and half acres, this place is a green haven. All exhibits here are related to various aspects of study – plants, life size animal models, an open air physics lab, a geological and physical science museum, a rock garden anda biodiversity park make this an educational paradise. Among its many achievements, Sri Vani Education Centre prides itself at having almost 100 % results each year in addition to several distinction students and state level rank holders. Extra-curricular activities are also given impetus here. Winning of six national level awards in choral singing competitions in five different years is an achievement. This competition is conducted by the Akashvani and students have performed in Delhi each time. Students of Sri Vani Education Centre have enjoyed rare opportunities of having performed before Presidents of India , Prime Ministers of India , Chief Ministers of States , foreign dignitaries etc. This is during meetings of the SAARC, the Russia Utsav, and National Games, children’s film festivals, Vishwa Kannada Sammelana, Dasara Utsav and many more. Children at the school are also encouraged in scouting, guiding, NCC, adventure sports, philately and sporting events. Staff and students alike have participated in several Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR) programmes. Sri Vani is also a member of Newspaper in Education sponsored by the Times of India. Students of the Science Club have progressed up to the National level at Science Fairs held across the country and abroad. Importance is given to fine arts as well and the Sri Vani Kala Kendra conducts classes in Music, Dance and Fine Arts on a regular basis for a select group of students. Workshops in dramatics, photography, literature etc are also organized. Sri Vani Education Centre also has the distinction of celebrating the Sri Rama Navami Music Festival for the past 26 years. This festival is a spectacular one. Various renowned artistes perform at the festival every year. Sri Vani also celebrates the festival of Navaratri with fervour. Besides various artistes from all over Karnataka performing every day, there are doll shows by senior students and performances by students of different grades. The school is run under the able stewardship of Mr Sharadaprasad who is the Principal and the Secretary of the Sri Vani Education Trust. With his wide global exposure, Mr Prasad has seamlessly merged technology into the rich cultural ambience of the school making the school up to date and at par with any educational institution in its category across the globe!
