From the 2013–14 academic session, the overall availability of MBBS seats in India rose to 42,169. AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam is conducted for admission in under-graduate medical program, MBBS – Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. 

AIIMS have the same reputation in medical field as IIT for engineering courses. It takes immense efforts and hardwork to get admission into AIIMS. In fact, If one gets a MBBS degree from AIIMS, he or she holds the passport to work as medico anywhere!

Eligibility Criteria:

AIIMS Require minimum of 50% marks in qualifying examination in case one belongs to SC / ST category. For general category candidates the minimum marks limit is 60%. This is the first stage from where lot of the aspirants get sorted away, because less than required percentage in class 12th board exam means that one can not apply for AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam. So, first and foremost plan should be to concentrate on boards exams and achieve good percentage of marks for getting yourself eligible to apply!

Now for those who surpass the first hurdle, means, who becomes eligible to apply for AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam has to appear for an CBT ( Computer based Test) , online entrance examination which is usually for three hours and thirty minutes. 

AIIMS MBBS Exam Pattern

There is only one paper of 3:30 hours durations. There are about 200 multiple choice questions (MCQs). Each of the four sections namely physics, chemistry, biology has 60 questions and there is one separate section of GK ( General Knowledge) which consists of  20 question.+1 Mark for correct answer and negative marking of -1/3 (one third) mark for incorrect answers.

Preparation for AIIMS 2017

Biology:   Cells, Genetics, Systematics, Ecology and Human Health & Diseases are especially important.

Chemistry: General Organic Chemistry (VERY IMPORTANT), Hydrocarbons, Equilibria, Bonding etc. Also, be very thorough with reactions of p-block elements.

Physics: Modern Physics, Waves, Heat and Thermodynamics, Ray Optics etc.
